STEP 1. Ok, this is pretty much the first building block towards creating your Medusa. I'd like to start my drawings off with the core basics. This includes drawing the frame of the body. The main focal point for this type of body pose would have to be the stomach and head area. Make sure you pay close attention to those areas. Don't forget to draw the individual guidelines for the heads of the snakes. As you can see to the right side of this drawing guide, there's a head shot of Medusa. I added this so you can learn how to draw her head as well. Enough rambling, let's move onto the next step.   STEP 2. You've made it to step two. In this step, we bluntly draw out the details. The face is the best way to start your drawing off. Usually if you don't start with the head, you'll end up with disproportional limbs or perspective. However, for pro artists, it wouldn't bother their proportions. Anyways, move onto the first stages of Medusa's snake like hair. This is also important as it will lead you to drawing the other snakes evenly. Don't forget to sketch out her arms.   STEP 3. This step is pretty straightforward. As you can see, you'll be drawing the rest of Medusa's snake hair and the rest of the facial features to the right. Make sure you observe the shape of the snakes heads from the different views I drew them. Stray away from the same poses of the snake heads as it would give off a tedious visual concept. Ready for the next step?   STEP 4. Ok, this step would probably be more challenging then the rest. This is the part where you have to proportionally draw out the body. The hands can be a hassle for some people, so take that experience at a slow level. Sketch in the details of her rear and the beginning of her snake tail. After you've completed this, move onto step five.   STEP 5. Alright, you've accelerated to step five. Your almost near done. The step after this would probably take you a while to complete since there's a lot of them. Anyways, this is another easy step. Your going to sketch out the tail part of her body. The end of the tail is hidden beneath her massive body. I prefer to hide some parts of a drawing to give a mysterious aura. I hope you have your pencils sharpened for the next and final step.   STEP 6. This step will need your patience in order to complete the final image correctly. I had to draw all these scales within a time span of five hours. Pay very close attention to the pattern of your scales so they don't result into uneven and sloppy lines. Once you've completed all of this, you're ready to erase your guidelines and ink the drawing out.   STEP 7. Here it is, the final line art! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial as much as I did. I put a lot of time and effort into this picture. Make sure you tell your mythological obsessed friends about this tutorial. Thanks so much for viewing and don't forget to comment and rate.   Step 1.
