STEP 1. Okay lets start this first with drawing out the shape of Cyclops head. Start with a big round circle with facial guidelines drawn in which is just like a big long cross that goes straight down the middle. Now draw a line going across the bottom part of the facial frame line as shown. After that is completed start sketching in the shape for his jaw and chin. then his jacket.   STEP 2. As you can see here you will start sketching in the detailing to make Cyclops look like Cyclops. Start with sketching in his hair line. As you know he has some what of a short hair style. Now sketch in the shape of his optical glasses along with the ears, nose and top lip. For the nose you will only need to sketch in the nostrils and the bottom tip of the nose. Now finish his face structure by sketching in his squared jaw and his neck. *Tip and easy way to draw a nose is to make a V without the point and add a rounded curve at the tips.   STEP 3. Now since this character who plays Scott Summers or Cyclops has a very strong facial frame, there is extra detailing that needs to be done to his jaw or cheek. But first lets work on detailing his optical glasses. What you are gonna need to do is sketch in the detailing guidelines as shown to make the glasses look 3D. Now sketch the bridge of his nose on the right side and then his crinkle lines on his forehead. Now you can sketch in a nice inward curved line to define his cheek that makes the squareness more predominate in his facial structure. Next sketch in the definition line for his chin and sketch the bottom lip. Now detail his leather jacket and skecth in detailing in the ears.   STEP 4. All you will be doing in this step is sketching out his hair style. Take your time doing this so it comes out looking very real. He has short wavyish straight hair that parts in the middle as you can see. This can be done with a series of long stroking lines that will eventually give you what you see here. Oh, you also have to sketch in a bit of eyebrow on the left.   STEP 5. In this step you will be sketching in more detailed lining on his leather jacket to make it look real and three dimensional. Study the step and do as you see. After that ears all those visible guidelines and shapes that you previously drew in step 1.   STEP 6. After you cleaned up your sketch and you have added some quick shading as seen here you should end up with a sketch that looks like the one above. Color him in if you wish or leave him as a sketch. As with any portrait sketch drawing I always leave it as a penciled sketch. This is all for this tutorial on how to draw Cyclops from the X-Men.   Step 1. Step 2. Step 3. Step 4. Step 5. Step 6.
