STEP 1. Start this first step by drawing out the shape of a large egg for his head. Then sketch in facial guidelines as you see here. After that draw a line for his neck.   STEP 2. Now here you will start the detailing of Elvis. Start by sketching in his world famous hair style starting with the sides right on his temple. When sketching in his hair use a light stroke making the straight hairs shorter than the others until it looks natural. On the left side of his head draw out the outlining for his hair. Now you are ready to sketch in the shapes of his bushy looking eyebrows. Next define the shape of his face starting on the left side under his eyebrow and working your way down until you have formed a nice structured face with a high cheek bone and all. Now sketch out the out line of his nice full lips as shown and then draw out the lining for his jacket and jaw.   STEP 3. In this third step you will start sketching in the actual hair inside of the eyebrow shape you drew in step two. After that you can start drawing out the shape of his almond looking eyes along with his eyeballs. Elvis has a puffy look to bottom of his eye so sketch in definition lines to express this feature about his face. You will do this to both the right and left eye. Now begin sketching out the shape of his rounded broad nose and then detail his lips a bit more and also sketch in a curved line for his chin.   STEP 4. As you can see you will be spending a lot of time sketching in his nicely shaped hair. You can do this with a series of soft straight strokes that curve inward a bit depending on the position. After you do this, sketch in the wrinkle lines on his forehead which he only has three of and then shade in his eyeballs and give him some nice long eyelashes. Shade under his left eye very lightly to give definition and sketch in the crease lines on his bottom lip. Start the side burn on the right before moving to the next step.   STEP 5. Erase all the guidelines you drew in step one before shading in anything you see here. Now you will begin the shading process in this final step of drawing and sketching. If you remember in the previous step you only sketched in a portion of his hair. That is because you will be filling in the rest with shading. When you shade in the dark area on his hair make sure the bold lines are pointed at the tip but still firm looking. Shade the side of his head along with the far side of his right jaw. Shade a bit on the neck and color in the jacket.   STEP 6. This is what your finished sketch and shading of Elvis should end up looking like when you are done. You can color it in if you wish or you can leave it as a sketch. Either way they both look good. that concludes this tutorial on how to draw Elvis Presley step by step.   STEP 7. In this step I will be showing you how to make that nice shading effect. Make sure you are using Adobe Photoshop software. This is only for that program. If you don't have it, then might as well skip these steps. First get out your burn tool. Asset it a reasonable size. This size depends on how large the area that needs shading is. Set your burn brush to the settings in the image. This will make the shading easier to control.   STEP 8. In this step we will start the shading process. All you have to do is shade a first coat six inches above the black spot. After that make another coat of darkness ontop of that color and make it four inches above the black spot. Finally make a third coat of shading color on secondary shaded color. Make sure this is extra dark. As you can tell it looks perfect. I hope this step helped you shade better!   Step 1. Step 2.
