STEP 1. Start this first step by drawing some shapes and guidelines to form a frame for your dung beetle. Start by drawing two circles for the eye that the beetle is holding and then an oval shape for the body. Make another circle for the the shape that the beetle is holding with his legs. Now you will draw the guidelines for the limbs, and then the body guidelines in the middle.   STEP 2. You will now start drawing the lines for the wings and then the thickening lines for the legs as shown. For the body you will draw out the top half lining of the body.   STEP 3. As you can see you have already drawn out the wing shapes and the two circles for the eyeball and the eye of Ra. What you will do now is sketch out the shape of the legs and then add some definition detailing to the beetle body as shown. Once you are done you can move to the next step.   STEP 4. Well you are almost done and as you can see your scarab is coming along nicely. What you will do here is close off the wing tips by drawing rounded edges. Then you will add a nail on bot wings near the front legs. You will then sketch the eyes and then add the slightly wavy lines on the shape that the beetle is holding with it's legs.   STEP 5. Well you have made it to your last drawing step and what you will do now is sketch the eyeball and pupil and then add scratching lines around the pupil as seen here. Add two circles on the body and then add some slight shading on the body. You will then draw out the Egyptian eye design on the lower shape.   STEP 6. When you are done your sketch should end up looking like this. All you have to do is erase all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.
