STEP 1. Because so many people like this breed of dog, I thought it would be cool for me to draw a more cartoony version of the Dachshund so that everyone can give this lesson a go. Start with a round shape for the dog's head and then draw the "U" shape for the muzzle. Add the guidelines for facial alignment, and then draw a circle for the chest, and a half hotdog shape for the body.   STEP 2. Now you will simply draw out the shape of the head, and long floppy ears. Using the muzzle outline that you drew in step one, draw out the actual shape of the dog's snout. The ears should be uniform and close to the head as you see them here.   STEP 3. Now you will start utilizing those facial guidelines you drew in step one to draw in the eyes, and then color in the pupils. Add eyebrows, and a round Rudolph type of nose. See how easy this lesson has become.   STEP 4. It's time to draw the chest of the dog, and his short stubby legs and paws. This is one of the characteristics that the Dachshund is recognized for. Once the front part of the body is drawn, you can then draw the back and tail.   STEP 5. Finish your drawing by sketching out the ribcage, and belly of the dog, and then draw in the stubby hind legs and back paws. For detailing, draw a coat marking on the chest. Erase all the unwanted lines and shapes that you drew in step one to clean up your drawing!   STEP 6. Here it is, your cute adorable drawing of a Dachshund. Color the pooch in and you are all done. I hope you enjoyed this lesson on drawing a Dachshund dog. Join me again real soon, and keep up the good work!   Step 1. Step 2. Step 3. Step 4. Step 5. Step 6.
