STEP 1. Let's get the frame work for Astrid drawn so we can piece together her body one by one. First draw a circle for the head, and then draw the body's guidelines that is connected to the head.   STEP 2. You will now start drawing Astrid. Sketch out the shape of her lower face and or jaw, and then sketch in her mouth, and nose. Next begin sketching out her hair starting with her long bangs, and sides. Once that is done all you need to do to finish this step is draw the headband that she is wearing.   STEP 3. To finish off her face you will need to draw in her eyes, which are big and bright looking. And then finish sketching out her hair style, and ears. Now that that top half of Astrid is drawn, you can begin sketching out her torso starting with the shoulders, chest, and waist. Once complete, draw the animal hide shoulder pads and then some of the shape for her upper arms. Don't forget to add lashes to those eyes.   STEP 4. Begin detailing the shoulder pads with metril trim, and spikes. Once that is done you can finish drawing her arms, and hands, and then add the wrap that is tied around her forearms as you see here. The next thing to do is begin sketching out her armored skirt that is woven together by piece. Each section should have at least four spikes, and the ends should have pointed tips. Once this is done, move to step five.   STEP 5. This is your last drawing step which means you will be finishing off Astrid. Draw the shape of her legs, and then draw out the medieval looking knee boots that she is wearing. This style of footwear was very common. Add the straps, and then draw her Viking axe that she is holding in her left hand. Add some detailing to the weapon, and then start erasing all the guidelines and shapes that you drew in step one.   STEP 6. Here she is all cleaned up and ready to color in. I hope you enjoyed this lesson on "how to draw Astrid". Even though you have no idea who this character is, you will be thanking me later after you have watched the movie "How to Train Your Dragon" which will be in theaters this Friday.   Step 1. Step 2.
