STEP 1. You will start the first step by drawing an oval or egg shape for the head, and then add the facial guidelines. You will then draw a connecting line which is the snakes body, and notice how the line turns into a lasso.   STEP 2. You will now start sketching out the shape of Jake's head, and notice how it is blocky just the way a real rattlesnake's head would look like. When that is done you can begin drawing out the shape of the neck like so and be sure to make it thick instead of weak and thin looking.   STEP 3. Before you start working on Rattlesnake Jake's face, you will need to first draw more of his coiling body out like you see here. This can be done in a two layer display. Once that is done draw a middle line that flows with the contour of the neck, and then you can sketch out the eyes, nostrils, and mouth just like the way they are drawn in this step.   STEP 4. You will now work to finish drawing Rattlesnake Jake by making the rest of his long coiled body, and then his rattler. Lightly draw the scales like you see here, and the underlining scales on the neck like so. When that is done draw the mouth and gums for his fangs, and then add the pupils in the eyes. You will also lightly sketch in the scales on his face too, and then lastly draw the cowboy hat which looks a lot like Freddy Kruger's hat. Add some last minute detailing and then you are ready to erase the lines and shapes that you drew in step one.   STEP 5. When you are all done Rattlesnake Jake should look like the drawing you see before you. Now you can have even more fun coloring him in until he looks as nasty as he is. Great work guys and don't forget to look for the movie in 2011.   Step 1. Step 2. Step 3. Step 4. Step 5.
