STEP 1. Mae an oval shape for the orangutan's head and then draw in the same shape for the body. Sketch in the facial guidelines and move to step two.   STEP 2. Here you will begin drawing out the actual shape of the baby orangutan's face structure, and incorporate the shapes of the ears a well.   STEP 3. Using the facial guidelines that you sketched in during step one, begin drawing small circles for the baby's eyes. Thicken the eye shapes and then slowly sketch in the crease, or wrinkles under each eye as well as an eyelid. Make the separation line for the muzzle of the animal and then draw the nostril holes, as well as the mouth or smile.   STEP 4. As you know orangutans are very hair animals and they have what you call fin, or light thinned hair that grows on their heads. Here you will begin drawing the upright hair until the whole top of the head is crowned. Add some detailing inside of the ears and then sketch in some sporadic hair along the sides of the lower jaw or face.   STEP 5. You are all done with the head and face which means you can move onto getting the body drawn out. Start under the chin and begin drawing the long, thick arms. Be sure that the lining is hairy, because as I said before, orangutans are hairy apes.   STEP 6. Make a small hump for the top part of the back, ad then continue the lining down until you draw the arch of the back, as well as the butt, and first hind leg.   STEP 7. Finish drawing the body starting with the rest of the chest and stomach, and then draw in the other hind leg. Sketch in some hair texture detailing like so, and move along to step eight.   STEP 8. All you have to do now to finish off this baby animal, is draw in the feet and hands. Erase the mistakes as well as guides and that's it, you're done.   STEP 9. Your finished image should look like the baby orangutan you see here. Color in your new baby ape and show your folks, or other family members what you have done.   Step 1. Step 2. Step 3. Step 4.
