STEP 1. First, we'll begin with a simple circle to start placing our major detailing on. You'll want to try to draw this guide as accurate as possible, depending on your skill level. If you're a total novice, you'll want to draw this spot on, or near it.   STEP 2. Then, we'll start sketching the outer face shape for Mavis. You'll notice that her face shape is very round, especially at the chin area. Keep in mind that the midsection of her head is thinner than it is at the bottom. Try to draw as closely as you can, and measure the exact distances between the guidelines and lines needed to be drawn.   STEP 3. Next, we'll sketch the eyes for Mavis. Her eyes are squinted at the corners, having the middle the largest region. Note that her eyes loop upwards in a sort of 'U' shape. Take your time and be subtle with the lashes.   STEP 4. We'll start moving onto the major facials, working our way the pupils and iris. Most of her iris covers the entire empty space of the eye. Try not to rush so much, and keep a steady hand each stroke of the way.   STEP 5. Moving strand by strand, we start working on the hair for Mavis. Her hair is moderately long, having shorter parts at each edge. The middle part of her head should be drawn in a lump, separating outwards into the large masses of side bangs.   STEP 6. Next, we'll draw the shoulders and neck. The base of her neck is large, but starts to taper once it gets to the base of the torso. She has a thin and very straight posture, so keep that in mind.   STEP 7. Lastly, finish off her hair by completing the right side of her head, and using light line weights for the inner detailing. Never use bold lines throughout the entire drawing, it will dull the overall composition.   STEP 8. Once you've cleaned up your lines, you should have something similar to this. I suggest inking out the final drawing with a black marker, pen, or brush pens. I hope you've enjoyed this as much as I had creating it. Take care and I hope Hotel Transylvania was an awesome movie!   Step 1. Step 2. Step 3. Step 4. Step 5. Step 6. Step 7. Step 8.
