STEP 1. Let's start by drawing a shape for her head, and then sketch in a facial guideline. You know that she is holding up a torch, so you will also have to draw the guideline for her raised arm, as well as a shape for the torch.   STEP 2. Begin the task of drawing out the shape of her face as well as her parted hair or bangs.   STEP 3. To add the top half of her hair, all you have to do is trace over the head guide you made in step one. Once that is done make the ears, use the facial guideline to draw in her eyes, then draw the nose and mouth like you see here. Don't forget to add some detailing.   STEP 4. In this step you will only draw out her crown. Start by making the base of the crown which is the band that sits on top of her head. Next, draw the spike shapes like so, then add some detailing to the band as well as draw in the shape of the neck.   STEP 5. Continue to draw in more of the hair which in this case is wavy. Draw the shoulders, as well as her sleeves, then draw the V shaped collar line. Add the shape of a book, then draw her hand or fingers holding the book.   STEP 6. You will finish this tutorial on drawing lady Liberty by drawing her extended arm, as well as the torch she is holding up. When that is done draw the robe she is wearing making sure that it has enough ripples, pleats, creases, and layers. Draw her foot, toes, and sandals, then add detailing to the book. Clean up the mistakes and you're done.   STEP 7. Here is what your new Statue of Liberty looks like when you are all done. Now you can color her in.   Step 1. Step 2. Step 3. Step 4. Step 5. Step 6.
