STEP 1. Now, if you're curious as to what vegitation to draw on your deserted desert, I'd advise you to reference as much as possible on the various landscapes of deserts. Here's just a few of the many types of vegetation in these landscapes. 1) is a typical cactus blended with palm styled trees. 2) is the abstract forked cactus which mainly consist of 3 stems. 3) is a cactus that have various stems, but a very long and thin base.   STEP 2. Here's an example of a very far view of a desert with sand dunes a bit of vegetation skirting a region of the plane. Remember to observe and reference as much as possible when you're drawing landscapes!   STEP 3. Let's start by drawing the flat rocky mounds that will make up the foundation to our desert.   STEP 4. You will now add some edge trim like you see here, then some various rocks that will add realism to your desert scene.   STEP 5. Now that the foundation is drawn, we can start drawing out some of the cactus bushes. As you can see I've included the typical looking cactus, as well as the short stubby cactus that have flowers sprouting at the tips.   STEP 6. Lastly, draw the background of you desert which should be a far off distant, mountain view. Add detailing to the mounds, then draw in some more huge boulder rocks. Erase the mistakes then you're done.   STEP 7. Here is your drawing when you are all done. Now you can color it in to your liking.   Step 1. Step 2. Step 3. Step 4. Step 5. Step 6. Step 7.
