STEP 1. Begin with making two shapes, one for the head, and the other for the body. Connect the two with a neck line like so.   STEP 2. You will now begin sketching out the actual shape of the deer's head and snout like so. Once that is done draw the ear, back of the neck, and the mouth line. When you draw the back part of the neck make the lining in a manner to convey a long coat.   STEP 3. Here is where you will need to take your time as you sketch out the antlers of the deer or buck. As you may or may not know, the more points to the buck's antlers is considered more desirable.   STEP 4. Sketch in the mean, or bold face. Start with the eye, then sketch in the nose, downward positioned brow, and then add detail and definition to the ear and neck like so.   STEP 5. Sketch out the front part of the deer's chest which should be done by making a mane like textured chest. When that is done, draw out the some of the back which is where the shoulder would be. Add some definition to the hair too.   STEP 6. Now we will work on the body. Do this by starting with the back, then slowly draw the rear, back leg and hoof, then draw in the belly, front leg and hoof, followed by the definition to the body muscles.   STEP 7. Finish off this buck by drawing the other two legs, then sketch in the tail as well as the detailing that you need to add. Erase the mistakes then you're done.   STEP 8. Here is what your buck looks like when you are all done. Now go ahead and color it in.   Step 1. Step 2. Step 3. Step 4. Step 5. Step 6. Step 7. Step 8.
