STEP 1. First, let's begin with the basic guidelines for the shape of the gargoyle's head. Start with a circle then a series of hatching lines which will help proportion the facials. Take your time with this step as the basic ground work will depend on how well you draw the guides.   STEP 2. Then, we'll start sketching the face shape as well as the horns which perch at the very edge of the forehead. The face shape needs to be wide at the facial area, and narrow in the chin area.   STEP 3. Next, let's sketch the facials! The brows should have a certain amount of thickness, with the nose scrunched close to the furrowing brows. This will create the classic gargoyle look that's most seen in movies and comics. The mouth should cover 3/4 of the face shape we've drawn previously, to allow enough room for the teeth and tongue.   STEP 4. Then, we'll finish off the facials by adding the eyes, nostrils, and flexed flesh that shapes the mouth. Use thin line weights for this part of the drawing, so you have an even balance between line thickness throughout the drawing.   STEP 5. Lastly, finish off by drawing the ears and the inner details for them. Again, use thin line weights for the inner ear details.   STEP 6. sdf   Step 1. Step 2. Step 3. Step 4. Step 5. Step 6.
