STEP 1. This will be a two step lesson that contains three steps in each block. Get started by drawing a head, torso, and limb guidelines. You will then begin the drawing process for Charlie's face and head. Start with drawing the cup or bowl shaped hat, followed by his dark colored hair. Draw the eyebrows, eyes, nose mustache and small lined mouth. Next, sketch out his slanted shoulders, arms, and torso.   STEP 2. Color in a black tie, then draw the lining for button up suit jacket. You will add the rest of the shape for the jacket like so, then draw and color in a pocket, belt, and his hands. Add detailing at the base of the sleeves which is the cuffs. Draw his legs using a baggy dress pant style, then draw his clown style shoes as well as his thin stick cane.   STEP 3. Now the head lesson. Make the shape of his head, then draw the shoulders. Sketch in the facial guidelines before proceeding to the next step.   STEP 4. Sketch out the very round shape of his face like so, then draw in the hairline.   STEP 5. You will use the facial guidelines to draw out the eyes, then sketch out the shape of Charlie's nose and add a thin line for his mouth.   STEP 6. Next, finish the shapes of his eyes, then draw the eyeballs. Draw and color in black eyebrows, as well as his Hitler style mustache. Sketch in the nostrils, mouth, and dimples.   STEP 7. You will now draw out the hat, as well as the hair puffing out from the sides. When that is done add some minor detailing to add definition.   STEP 8. This is your last drawing step. Draw the shape of his neck, then sketch in the shirt collar, his tie, the shoulders, and jacket flaps that rest on the sides. Erase your mistakes like so, then you can see how Charlie looks all drawn out.   STEP 9. Here is Sir Charles Chaplin. He can be colored in now if you like or you can leave your drawing as a sketch.   Step 1. Step 2. Step 3. Step 4. Step 5. Step 6. Step 7. Step 8. Step 9.
